The Ultimate Career Shortcut for Actors
When you are trying to get somewhere, do you look for the easiest and fastest way to get there or do you try to find the most confusing, turned around and slowest way to get there?
You would be crazy to do it the latter way.
Have you ever been in a hurry and tried to take a shortcut, only to end up getting lost and having it turn into a route that took longer than if you would have just done it the “normal” way?
We all have!
Honestly, our days are numbered and that makes it human nature to look ways to do things better, faster and more efficiently.
Sometimes, this works great and we get big innovations and make giant leaps forward. Other times, things don’t go as planned.
So, if you are wanting to become a full time, working actor and you want to do it the easiest, fastest way possible there are some things you will need to look out for.
The two kinds of shortcuts when it comes to the industry. One of them will get you noticed and in touch the people that matter. The other way is a complete waste of time and money at best and could have devastating consequence at worst.

Let’s talk about the second one first, because it’s unfortunately what most actors choose.
It’s also the reason that workshops and showcases were such a big deal until just a couple of years ago.
The opportunity to pay a couple hundred dollars and be seen by a leading Casting Director or other industry decision makers was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
In theory, this would be a fantastic strategy, if the CDs had a ton of roles to fill and then put on the workshops and showcases themselves to find the talent to do fill them with.
However, since they were basically being paid an appearance fee to sit in the chair and show some kind of interest every now and then this left everyone attending the events with basically a zero chance of being booked or having what they hoped would be a new relationship with industry decision makers, go nowhere.
I’m not saying that workshops and showcases are all bad and that you shouldn’t do them. Not at all! In fact I know a few actors that successfully got their careers off the ground this way.
On the flipside I know many, many, many more for whom this was a complete waste of time, at best.
See, when you do an event like this, there is an opportunity cost and there may be things going on behind the scenes that you are completely unaware of but may still affect you.
Just a few years ago, one of the showcase organizers was prosecuted on racketeering charges because he was paying the CDs an extra kickback to guarantee a couple of the event attendees would be cast in something.
It seems like a kind of shady thing to do but at least a few actors benefitted, right?
Well, it would seem like it at first, but they faced charges in the scheme and had to lawyer up and fight the charges, and most importantly they also had to fight for their good names to be cleared.
Not only that, the studios completely blackballed the CDs involved in the scandal along with the actors.
They didn’t want anything to do with the negative publicity.
Granted this is an extreme case and things don’t typically get that far out of control.
But, when you take the wrong kind of shortcut you almost guarantee failure because it’s like trying to hit a target that doesn’t exist. No matter how many shots you take, and no matter how good you are, you can never hit a target that isn’t there.
And that’s what most actors do . They aim to hit a target that isn’t there, thinking it will eventually show up.
Here’s what I mean. Actors, and just about everyone else in the industry has an imaginary picture of someone that holds the keys to their future.
They imagine someone with the power to wave a magic wand and manifest a career for them.
Even when you are highly connected, this just doesn’t happen.
The ultimate decision maker is not an industry insider at all. It’s the public! The people that will turn up for you at the box office, or tune in to watch you are the ones that will ultimately determine whether or not you have a career.
When I mention this, I always hear “but I need to have the chance to get in front of the public first.”
That used to be the hard part, but now you can do it in literally the next 5 seconds.
Step 1, pull out your phone. Step 2 Open the Instagram App. Step 3 Post.
Done!
You have unbridled access to the ultimate decision makers and the industry knows it. It’s why the power dynamics have changed.
You no longer need to impress and schmooze CDs and industry people, if you have the public on your side. Influencers know this and many of them are making the cross over to the mainstream because of it.
So if you are looking for the easiest and fastest way to build your acting career, that is where you should start. That is the right kind of shortcut.
The Veronica Mars movie was completely greenlit and crowd funded by fans. The studio came later.
This doesn’t mean that you should ignore the industry decision makers. To make yourself completely irresistible to the industry, you have to make yourself visible to them simultaneously. This means actively marketing yourself to the industry.
That’s an area where I know exactly how to help you.
See, when making a casting decision, CDs are eager to find the next big thing but they also have to look out for the interests of the studios and the networks.
So, it’s not just about having a big public persona or social following. You also need to have an impeccable industry reputation. Here’s a quick fix for that too.
The truth is that CDs want to book you for big roles, even if you are completely unknown, but what keeps them from it is the fear of casting someone that isn’t ready for the task at hand.
If they cast someone that is unknown and unproven and they ultimately tank, it’s an early retirement for the CD.
This is why you have to make sure that your industry reputation matches your goals and where you want to go. With your reputation in order, CDs will give you a shot at roles that are bigger than what you would normally read for.
That’s what makes this the right shortcut to take. If you take that route, I’m sure that before long I will…

How To Get To The Next Level In Your Acting Career
Everyone in the industry wants to know how to “get to the next level.”
Whether they are just starting out and are still jet lagged from when they landed at LAX, or if they’ve been in the industry for over a decade and have made significant progress, everyone wants to reach higher.
In order to reach the next level in your career, you have to first measure where you are, so you can determine what the next level in your career actually is.
Is it going to entail going from one liners and bit parts to supporting roles, or are you trying to go from supporting roles to leading roles?
Whatever career stage you currently find yourself in, the way to get to the next level is practically the same…

Whatever career stage you currently find yourself in, the way to get to the next level is practically the same…
Most actors think they have to do a thousand things all at once to move their careers forward.
In reality, you only need to choose one thing that will give you an edge.
The path of least resistance tends to be social media, but there is proper way to approach social media, if you are looking to use it as a tool to move your acting career forward and get you booked.
Your strategy must be different than if you are simply using it to keep in touch with your friends.
Make that decision first.
If you are using it as a career tool, the most powerful thing is to go deep on a relationship with a lot of people. This is what social media provides, and the reason it’s so powerful. It works extremely well, as long as your posts are of value.
What keeps actors from being successful on social is they treat it just as if they were simply posting to keep in touch with friends.
Anytime you post on social, ask yourself if the post you are making would be the start of a conversation if you were at a party across from the person viewing the post.
Would showing them a photo of you and a cocktail be of any value or would they simply say “you look good” and move on to the next topic?
When we approach social, most of us are looking for that vanity validation from others, but the people that really take off and succeed on social media are the ones that can make you feel like the post you are looking at was sent directly to you.
They are also skilled at making their posts conversation starters.
Whether their posts are starting a conversation in your own head or you’re talking about the post with a friend, it’s the start of something bigger. The goal then becomes to post something that will have a life in the real world, not just on social.
Here’s the kicker!
Before you are selected for a callback, casting goes through a process of reviewing or creating your Castability Index to make sure there are no red flags, before moving you along in the casting process.
Meaningful content, and a highly engaged following will give you a much better shot at being memorable with casting.
It was only a few years ago that social media became something you were asked about at auditions.
Now it is starting to become a question during the submission process.
So, if you are being submitted to a ton of stuff and not getting so much as an audition, that may be a symptom of something being off with your social efforts.
If on the other hand, you are going on a ton of auditions but you’re not being booked enough, then start to troubleshoot that problem.
It is rarely about you not being good enough.
We all have bad days and bad auditions of course, but how many times have you knocked it out of the park and didn’t hear anything back?
How many times have you followed up on the project, seen who was cast and thought you would have done better?
The entertainment business is not so much about talent as it is about having an edge over the competition (the competition being other films, other shows, etc).
That edge typically comes in the form of attention. If casting has a reason to believe you will give the production an edge, game over, you’re in!
This is what must come across in your auditions. What kind of an edge can you provide that no one else that will read for the role is able to match.
What casting is looking for is the same thing elite agents, managers, and practically everyone else in the industry is looking for.
So, if you want to attract high level reps, ask yourself, what kind of an edge do you bring to the table. My favorite, and the simplest way to do that is this.
Even elite agents still need some kind of leverage and tools to be able to book talent successfully.
Many actors think, “If I can just get signed by a better agency, I’ll be set.” That’s not the case at all.
Also, remember that your reps work for free until you’re booked. That’s why they are selective about who gets added to their roster, and it’s why they pour their efforts into talent that is already succeeding or that has an identifiable edge with casting.
Otherwise, it’s simply a waste of time for them.
Either create something for yourself, or just leverage what I have already created to give you an edge.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
While everyone is looking for the “magic pill” that will make them an overnight success, you can use simple, tried and true methods that have made actors successful forever.
The same principles that made Charlie Chaplin a one of the most successful actors ever, are the same principles you can leverage to skyrocket your own career.
Sure, the mediums may be different but in the end it’s all about making yourself visible to the industry, communicating that you have a competitive advantage they will benefit from, and making sure that your reputation matches your goals.
When you have those things in place, it won’t be long until we…

How To Fix Your Career Killing Mistakes
Even with the best of intentions, nearly every actor I have ever met, makes at least one of these career killing mistakes.
In fact, most of them are making all 3 so it’s now wonder that most leave the industry without ever making real progress or getting anywhere to achieving the goals they set out to achieve when they first decided to become an actor.
Seeing an actor leave the industry is heartbreaking enough. When you consider that it’s pretty simple to fix the mistakes they were making, it’s devastating.
Here’s how you can keep from making the same career killing mistakes so you can reach your goals and build a career that exceeds your wildest dreams.

How do you know if you are making these mistakes?
Be really and truly honest with yourself for a moment and ask yourself what the problem is in your career.
Are you not getting enough callbacks?
Are you getting callback auditions but not getting booked, or are you simply not getting auditions to begin with?
These are the symptoms that are present when you’re making the career killing mistakes.
What most actors do, and what you want to avoid, is to immerse yourself in a flurry of random activity in the hopes that something will work out and they will get more auditions.
Then, the law of averages would come into play and they would get booked more as a result.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, yet it’s what most actors do.
They continue to do more of what is isn’t working.
Simply going on more open calls is not the answer.
Getting a new agent is not the answer.
All you have to do is make yourself into a memorable character.
Since you are an actor this should be a rather easy thing for you to do, and everything else will fall into place.
It’s the “medicine” that cures every symptom caused by making the “career killing mistakes.”
If you are not getting called back but you are not being booked, then you didn’t stand out enough to the CD during the audition process.
It’s seldom about one actor being “better” than another.
It’s typically that one actor stands above the rest in terms of their memorability, and having some quality that was simply unforgettable to the Casting Director.
Don’t completely fabricate a quality that makes you stand out. Make sure that it’s an amplified quality that you already have.
One of our tribe members is a phenomenal guitarist and he has always listed it as a talent on his resume.
Rather than just letting it be another item on there, which isn’t really all that unique in the grand scheme, he figures out the most clever ways to incorporate it into his image.
His headshot features a pocket square with very brightly colored guitars on it.
When he goes to an audition, he is always wearing a bracelet made of guitar picks and he wears a large ring shaped like a guitar, just in case the bracelet were not visible enough.
He does this, even when the role he is auditioning for has nothing to do with his guitar skills.
It accomplishes something very important: standing out and being memorable. He becomes the “guitar guy” in the CDs mind.
Don’t be afraid to do things like this and break the mold. Get outside of the box and do it with conviction. If he were to shy away from it, he would just a dude with a weird bracelet.
Having that image consistently through all of his materials is what helps the branding element.
Here’s how it helps solve every one the symptoms that stem from the career killing mistakes.
It dramatically increased the amount of auditions he was getting. Remember the pocket square? When a CD is flipping through hundreds of headshots that all look the same, his immediately stands out.
That’s the first step to getting called in to audition: being seen.
Because there’s an immediate recall from his headshot, when he goes into an audition with the bracelet and ring it becomes a second interaction and there is a subconscious familiarity.
Of course he is talented, so because he is memorable and delivers a good performance at the audition, he gets a ton of callbacks.
If he delivered a good performance but was completely indistinguishable from the dozens of other actors that also read for the role, he wouldn’t be called back nearly as often.
Since he gets a good amount of callbacks, he also wins a good number of roles.
Just by making this simple adjustment and branding yourself uniquely, you can do the same.
The other part of this is to make yourself visible to the industry, which is why I created this for you.
When you take care of this element, everything else will fall into place. Your social media will be much more powerful, because you will also be able to distinguish yourself from the thousands of other actors vying for attention and followers.
You will even see the difference in your networking. The circles and groups you are involved with will come to associate your with your unique branding.
Fair warning.
When you go down this road, you must be prepared for the backlash.
Your fellow actor friends will think you have gone insane for breaking out of the traditional mold. Pay them no mind. If you want to build a long lasting and highly rewarding career, you have to be willing to do what others are not willing to do.
Don’t solicit their opinions and feedback unless they are on your same wavelength and you are working together on something like this. Otherwise, they won’t have the same perspective and steer you back into the box, you are trying to break out of.
Our tribe here at Boost My Star is made up of actors that think differently and I know how difficult it can be to find someone that is on your wavelength, so I’m always just an email or a comment away.

How To Make Industry Decision Makers Take You Seriously as an Actor
Grasshopper, the following is not an exaggeration: your career and frankly your life will literally change the moment you make 1 simple change in the way you approach the industry.
The industry we are a part of operates on attention.
The key to winning in the industry and building an actual career relies on your ability to get attention.
Let’s be honest for a moment. Think of a time when you watched another actors performance in a film or a show and thought to yourself “why did they win the role? I would have been so much better!”
It probably happens quite often.
I meet a lot of actors and what is absolutely devastating is that the most talented ones are the ones who cannot book work consistently enough to make this a career.
The ones that succeed are those that are skilled at getting attention.
Imagine what would happen, if you combined your talent and became skilled at getting attention.
The industry would be forced to take you seriously because it is literally what breathes life into the industry.
It’s easier than you might think and I’ve laid out the simple formula for you to follow in this report.
A question I get often and something you might be wondering is…

The industry would be forced to take you seriously because it is literally what breathes life into the industry.
It’s easier than you might think and I’ve laid out the simple formula for you to follow in this report.
A question I get often and something you might be wondering is…
“Why is getting attention so important?”
Let me be clear, I’m not referring to just getting attention for attention’s sake. I’m talking about getting the attention of key people in the industry.
I don’t mean that you should ignore the masses, but you do have to be strategic in the way you leverage the attention from the masses so that the decision makers take notice of you.
Most actors are simply doing 1 thing wrong and if you make this 1 switch, you can practically force the industry to take notice of you and take you seriously as an actor.
What most actors do when they approach social media, which is the main way to gain exposure, is that they don’t have a strategy for what to do or how to do it.
They simply post selfies from Sunday brunch or hanging out with their friends. There is nothing wrong with this, just know that it will not have the desired affect of building your acting career.
You have to make yourself visible to the industry by being known for something.
As I mentioned in the previous report, the hardest thing to be known for is being an actor.
It’s difficult to get people to buy into supporting your career because there are so many actors who are doing the same.
Instead, pick something different that you can also tie into your career.
Maybe you can podcast film reviews or react to TV shows.
That is Step 1.
Then, you must tailor your social media strategy to help you build that “thing.” Whether it’s a blog, a podcast, a FB group, whatever it is you have to switch your social media content to help you build it.
This will give you strategy and a direction in which to take your content creation.
The substance of what your building will also endear people to you when they discover you.
For example, if you are putting out film reviews the people that end up following you will be those that are interested in what you have to say because, 9 times out of 10, they agree with you.
So, when you have a new production you are working on or auditioning for, they will throw their full support behind you and that is what you can leverage to get the attention of decision makers.
That is Step 2.
When you get traction with step 2, you then run a Facebook ad campaign to people who work at the places or in the roles you want to target.
If you want to reach people at WME, you can target them with a FB ad about your industry related podcast, YouTube show, etc.
They may ignore your ad the first few times they see it but that’s ok. It takes on average 8X for someone to see something before they take some kind of action on it.
Imagine what kind of an advantage you would have if everybody in the room at an audition was trying to get cast from having just 1 interaction and 1 single exposure to the Casting Director, while you had been in front of them five, six, seven, or more times because you were running a strategic campaign like this.
Spend a few bucks a few times and it will make a huge difference.
That’s Step 3 and it’s the last one.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
The only other thing you have to make sure of is that your industry reputation matches your goals. So that if a CD or decision maker decides to look you up, they will find that you are a rising star.
Also, it is much easier to grow your social media channels, when you already have some growth behind you so I built something to help you get the ball rolling there.
Here are the details on how I can help with that.
You now have the simple 3 step formula for forcing the industry to take notice of you and take you seriously as an actor.
It’s usually at this point where actors think “this sounds good but do I really have to do this?”
The short answer is ”no.”
However, you came to this page for a reason and it’s likely because you know you have to do something different and if not this, then what.
If not now, then when?
Whatever course of action you decide to take, remember that I’m always here to help because my goal is to…

How 1 Simple Tweak Can Skyrocket Your Career Like Dwayne Johnson
Unless you possess 1 unique quality, you should probably quit trying to be an actor.
Here’s why…
Try this: pick any city block in the greater LA area. Take a beach ball with you, stand on the side walk, close your eyes and toss that beach ball in the air, without regard to who is around.
Now, retrieve your beach ball and ask whoever the ball hit, or landed close to, if they are an actor.
You will get a “yes” 99 times out of 100.
This is why, unless you have that 1 quality I mentioned a second ago, you should completely stop trying to be an actor, right now…
However, this does not mean that you should give up acting!
In fact, it is easier than ever to make it in the industry and have a career that exceeds even your wildest expectations if you make just a few simple tweaks to the way you approach the industry.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson did it and he went from being a joke in the industry, as a washed up wrestler trying to become an actor, to the highest paid and most in demand person in the industry.
Here’s what he did and how you can easily do it too.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson did it and he went from being a joke in the industry, as a washed up wrestler trying to become an actor, to the highest paid and most in demand person in the industry.
Here’s what he did and how you can easily do it too.
He’s stopped trying to be an actor, and became an entertainer instead. He went back to what made him successful in the wrestling arena and used it to catapult his new career to incredible heights.
What’s most impressive is how fast it happened.
This is him still in “actor” before he made the switch.
This is The Rock after he made the switch, having a good time and being in “entertainer” mode.
See, so most of us in the industry don’t have a strategic plan for how to connect with an audience. This should really come before anything else because people who care, pay attention and that’s something you can highly leverage.
For example, If I were to tell you that Susie Lasko has a new film premiering tonight, how likely are you to give it a second thought?
If you hear that someone like The Rock or Meryl Streep has a new project premiering, it catches your attention.
The reasoning behind this is what most people get wrong.
Marquee actors do not draw huge crowds simply because they are superstars.
It is solely because they have earned a reputation for being a reliable source of entertainment. That’s why we turn on the TV or head to the Movie theatre: to be entertained.
You see YouTubers and Instagrammers crossing over and going mainstream for this reason.
So evaluate whether or not the way you are approaching the industry is giving you the reputation as being a reliable source of entertainment.
That’s the switch that you have to make. Become an entertainer first and foremost and you will release the floodgates of acting opportunities.
It does not take a gigantic fan base to make a mark on the industry.
You don’t have to be a Dwayne Johnson or a Meryl Streep but you should aim to be as many places as possible.
Are you making an effort to be on podcasts, be guest blogger, putting out viral content on social media, or trying to book guest expert spots on the local news?
You don’t have to make it about being an actor and what you have going on. You first have to earn the reputation of being a reliable source of entertainment, remember?
You can do that simply by talking about other topics you know well, and then let the narrative naturally progress to your career and what you have going on.
I received a message for a member of Boost My Star tribe a few weeks ago about a new role she recently booked.
Not only was it a fantastic role that I’m sure will open up tons of new opportunities for her, the way she booked it was incredible.
She auditioned for the role and hadn’t heard anything, though she did confirm through her agent that the role hadn’t been booked yet.
By day, she is works as a marriage counselor and she just recently began making a concentrated effort to get media attention as a relationship expert rather than as an actor.
When you think of a marriage counselor, you probably picture someone quite cold and clinical in their demeanor but she is quite the opposite.
She is bubbly, funny, and does not fit the traditional mold at all so this made her magnetic to the media.
She was asked to do a segment on the evening news and when the producers asked how she wanted to be introduced, she told them.
On the show, she wasn’t just billed as a relationship expert but also as starring in the upcoming project she hadn’t even booked yet.
Her Instagram flooded with comments from people wanting to know more about the project and wanting to see it.
She sent the video of the interview to casting and they had no choice but to book her for the role.
I’m not saying that you have to do this exactly and declare that you have won a role for which you haven’t been booked yet, but you do have to put together a plan to get as much attention as possible.
Your efforts will have a snowball effect of starting slowly and then picking up speed exponentially, so I put this together to help you get the ball rolling and a layer of legitimacy to your efforts.
Naturally, when I share this one of the first things I hear is “I don’t anything special or have any cool skills to do that.”
Yes you do!
Dig deep. Even if you have only tended bar for 10 years, you could come up with a great drink recipe for whatever holiday is coming up and get tons of attention for it.
Don’t worry, you will not be boxed into being just about that one thing that gets you the attention as long as you tie it back into what it has to do with your acting career.
Because you are going to be referencing back to your career, when someone looks you up, you want them to find that you are a working actor.
If someone looks you up because they are curious and want to learn more about you and find that your IMDb is 250K, their interest in your career will likely fade.
So, be sure that your STARmeter matches your goals and fuels your reputation as an actor.
In the next report, I will show you how you can use this strategy to target Casting Directors, Producers, and other industry decision makers specifically.
However, before you get to that point, you want to already have a little bit of traction. Do this now, so you will be prepared for the next step.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or want to brainstorm ideas let me know in the comments below or shoot me an email. I read every one that comes in because my goal is to…

The Magic Formula to Success as an Actor
Tiger Woods won the Masters and the entire world went absolutely wild and this has far reaching implications beyond the world of golf.
It actually is great news for your acting career.
Not too long, he was on the list of the most hated people in America. Now, millions of people held their breathe and were silently rooting for him as he tapped in the last ball.
There is a phenomenon that has swept the globe.
It’s not isolated to the world of sports. It’s everywhere!
Personally, I’m a huge fan of Matt Damon. Practically everything he does is stellar, but recently I realized that my favorite roles that he’s played all had something in common.
Something that surprised me is that America, and frankly the entire world love seeing Matt Damon cry!
While that’s interesting enough, Matt Damon crying and Tiger Woods winning the masters could absolutely light your career on fire and send it skyrocketing.
Here’s how…

Personally, I’m a huge fan of Matt Damon. Practically everything he does is stellar, but recently I realized that my favorite roles that he’s played all had something in common.
Something that surprised me is that America, and frankly the entire world love seeing Matt Damon cry!
While that’s interesting enough, Matt Damon crying and Tiger Woods winning the masters could absolutely light your career on fire and send it skyrocketing.
Here’s how…
First of all, when you do something that hardly anyone else is doing, that’s when you know you are on the right track.
If you want to get the same results that everyone else gets then you do what everyone else does.
Let’s get more specific on that.
When you talk to other actors what do you learn about their journey? What they typically share tends to be…let’s call it a massaged version of the truth.
Auditioning for “man in bar #3” turns into “I’m auditioning for a James Cameron film.”
Man in bar #3 may in fact be a part of the new James Cameron project but the difference in the way it’s presented is very telling.
This is LA. I can’t count the number of times, I’ve made small talk with my Uber driver who turned out to be “in negotiations” with a major studio over his new script. The truth is probably more like, they mailed in a script that was unsolicited and are hoping that someone even opens the package.
This translates to white noise that everyone has become immune to.
CDs, directors, producers and anyone else you need on your side to make big moves in the industry are not swayed by this, because they see right through it.
Things like this are usually an ego boost and I would even go as far as calling it a self preservation tool that we use so we don’t have to admit that we’ve been spinning our wheels in the industry for several years only to have “man in bar #3” be the pinnacle of our achievements after all that time.
Here’s where Matt Damon and Tiger Woods come in to save you time and heartache by putting you on the right track.
What I realized about my favorite Matt Damon characters is that, they are the ones where he is weak.
Linus in the Ocean’s films was the complete opposite of Jason Bourne, for example. He was weak, unsure of himself, jumped at loud noises, and couldn’t make a decision.
This builds a connection with people.
Think about it this way. Would you like someone that followed you around all day and reminded you of how much better they are than you?
No! You would get away from that person as fast as possible, yet so many of us seem to want to be that person when it comes to our acting career, when the truth is that what’s working right now is being genuine.
Everyone loves a rags to riches story because it gives us hope. It reminds us that it’s possible to become what we want to be, starting from where we are.
We also love a comeback story, that’s why everyone when nuts over Tiger Woods winning the masters.
We have all made mistakes and done things that we wouldn’t want to see the light of the day, and when someone that has been at the lowest of lows is able to climb their way back to the top, it too gives us hope.
In fact, sometimes this is even more powerful because we know that while we may be starting at 0, they are trying to make a comeback after going to negative 100.
If you want to send your career skyrocketing, lift the veil and be real in how you approach your career.
Don’t post about going out for the new James Cameron film. You will get a few likes from friends and people that want to see you succeed.
However, when you’re real and post about how much you don’t want to go out for man in bar #3 after being at this for 10 years, you will be speaking to the heart of what so many others are going to and the will lift you up and support you on you journey to success.
I challenge you to put this to the test and see for yourself first hand.
You could continue about your merry way and ignore what you just discovered here.
However, I’m willing to bet that if you read this far, it is because you know something you are doing is not working or at the very least, should be working much better than it is.
You can literally make a decision right now and commit to doing things differently than you have been to this point.
If you change your approach and use effective strategies that are working today, you career could exceed your wildest expectations and surpass things you never even dared to say you wanted to achieve.
I’ve made it easy for you to things differently by creating this.
It is hands down the most effective and powerful tool of its kind.
Not only can it add legitimacy and help you get the ball rolling on your social journey, what’s far more important is that it increases your trust factor to industry decision makers.
I created it so that you could focus on you while, we take care of making you more visible to the industry.
That’s the magic success formula: be genuine and make yourself highly visible.
I’m not saying that you have to choose this, but you have to do something different than what you have been doing up to now.
If not this, then what?
If not now, then when?
Everyone has different obstacles to overcome so feel free to send me an email or leave your questions in the comments below.
I’m always happy to help because my goal is to…
See you the top,
Scott
How To Book More Roles This Year
Whenever I find myself waiting on something, I pop in my air buds and try to make use of the time somehow.
Look around and you will see so many people doing the same. Walking through the grocery store, the airport, the gym. Literally everywhere!
This is fantastic news for you as an actor.
I have been sounding the proverbial alarm on this big industry change for a long time.
At first, I was telling people that it was coming.
Now, it’s here and the actors that have seized the opportunity have already made phenomenal career strides.
Here’s what the massive industry shift is and how you can use it to book more roles this year than most actors book in their entire career.

I was at the DMV and absolutely going insane. I’m a bit ADD, so waiting is not my thing!
Fortunately, I had good cell service so I was scrolling through my YouTube feed and I came to an interview with one of the highest paid and busiest actors in the industry.
While that wasn’t the strange part, I noticed something that was strange.
The video had millions more viewers than the all of the late night talk shows combined.
What’s more is that the interview was uploaded just a few days ago.
Big media is losing the attention of the public. Stick with me for a minute, because this is where you and your acting career comes in.
Also, the way in which we (the public) consume media has changed.
We are now full on into a binge culture. This is why Netflix took off and why Amazon Studios typically makes the entire season of a new show available at once.
The big mistake that the networks are making is operating in the same old format.
People are simply not tuning in every Wednesday at 8 pm anymore. Their attention span isn’t there and they move onto other things.
Consider how many things you have on your DVR that you intended to watch but never got around to.
When I discovered the show Stranger Things on Netflix, I binged on it in one sitting.
No joke!
I would have gone hungry if it wasn’t for Uber Eats.
After binging on season 1, I honestly forgot about getting into season 2 until to the trailer for season 3 was released.
This isn’t a big deal in the online world where the metrics are different, but when a majority of your live audience forgets about the show and skips an entire season, that’s when cancellations happen.
The networks are trying to shift their distribution models to catch people in the moment because of this.
That’s why they are experimenting with Facebook and other avenues.
The biggest question right now is how to bring feature films to people, because they are not going to the box office in the numbers they used to.
Don’t let the inflated numbers fool you. The reason that records keep being “smashed” every season is that the ticket prices have skyrocketed.
What has prevented the studios for going directly to the consumer is distribution contracts with the theatres.
Here’s where you and your career will really benefit.
Those agreements are valid for a handful of years and the most important ones are up for negotiation right now and the biggest points being negotiated are how the studios can stream directly to the consumers.
So what we are moving to is a hybrid model of films streaming into your living room while also being available in theatres.
This is where you come in.
See, the reason that the biggest names in the industry do the shows like I mentioned earlier isn’t simply because of the viewership of that one episode on one channel.
When people go online and find something they like, they go deep on that subject for their entire viewing session.
They watch one interview, then another, then look for blooper clips, etc. The old media does not have this and that’s why the industry is rapidly pushing their talent to online platforms. It is exponentially more powerful.
What we’re seeing is a trickle down effect where mainstream actors are making appearances on smaller online platforms.
What you need to do is position yourself so that you can swim upstream.
That’s why there’s so much cross pollination right now. Instagrammers and YouTubers are going into mainstream projects because they can bring the attention the mainstream so desperately needs.
You can ride that wave, as so many others have by creating your own vehicle for the industry to take notice of who you are and what you bring to the table.
The great thing about this model is that, the industry and the public will accept you for who you are and the old school avatar of a movie star with a giant ego that is unreachable is really starting to fade away.
So be genuine. Be real. Be you and stand for something.
That’s what the industry and your future fans want. They want someone to root for.
So as you build your platform keep this in mind.
To book more credits this year than most actors do over their entire career, all you have to do is build a small following of real fans that will support you in everything you do.
I built this so I can help you get the ball rolling and add some “legitimacy” to your journey.
This doesn’t take millions of people either. It doesn’t even take thousands!
One fan, will become two, which will turn into 6, then before you know it 6000, and then the sky is the limit!
Just be sure that your industry reputation matches your goals, because they will want support someone who is actively in the industry and doing things.
The industry decision makers will come knocking before long because someone that’s everywhere and that people are talking about, is hard to ignore.
Where most actors that try to do this go wrong is that they try emulate what they see established actors doing, but that’s not how you make a name for yourself when starting out.
So, in the next report, I’m going to give you the formula for explosive growth of your platform online and how to make Casting Directors and elite agents take notice of you and practically trip over each other while they all try to get to you first.
That’s coming up soon, but in order to be able to capitalize on that, you have to do this first so that CDs, agents, and your new fans will see that you are a force to be dealt with.
Remember, success doesn’t come to those who wait. It comes to those go after it, so get after it because I want nothing more than to…
See you at the top,

The Secret Life of Actors and How to Become and Industry Powerhouse
If you made it to this page and you are reading these words, then you are officially one of the “brave ones.”
This will make a lot more sense in a bit. See, I wasn’t sure if I should even write this report.
I figured that some of you would be confused at best and think I’m nuts at worst…
But, I just couldn’t help myself because I have to stay true to the mission we have set out for ourselves at Boost My Star, and continue to peel back the curtain and reveal the side of the industry that no one else dares talk about.
If you simply read through this report and do what it says, your acting career could reach stratospheric heights, higher than you ever thought possible and much faster than you ever thought possible.

Here’s why…
It all started at Barnes and Noble, a place that has been on the endangered species list for quite some time but is miraculously still around.
I’m a bit of an old school character in many respects, and I still enjoy browsing the stacks much more than flipping pages on the Kindle store, so I am grateful for the few brick and mortar book stores still around.
You know how things sometimes just align exactly the right way and it’s almost as if there is a message coming to you?
This was one of those times. I didn’t go there looking for it.
In fact the book was out of place and it literally jumped out at me. As I reached for a different title, it landed at my feet.
I looked at the cover intrigued, wondering why a book from several decades ago was still in print and had prime shelf space here.
I grabbed it along with the other title and headed for a chair in a quiet corner. I don’t know why, but I felt sort of embarrassed to even be reading this and I only even grabbed the other book to sort of use it as a shield so no one could see what I was reading.
I sat in that lumpy chair and read the book from cover to cover and it was one of the most impactful things that I have done all year.
Every actor needs to read this book and in fact it should be required reading for every human being.
The book I’m talking about is “The Secret Life of Plants.”
You have probably never heard of it, and while I don’t want to spoil it for you, here’s what you have to know about it.
The book is about a series of experiments performed on plants that revealed some really strange things.
The contents of the experiments are so controversial that many academics have said that the book should be regarded as fiction, rather than factual scientific research.
Regardless, while some of the claims have been debunked and some of the experiments have been proven flawed and not replicable, it’s important to note that not all of them have.
This is where you and your acting career come in…
In the book, the researchers talk about such outlandish topics like Plant-sentience, basically stating that plants have feelings and can experience emotions.
In one experiment, they talk about plants experiencing fear and I have to admit, there were times when I was convinced a Demogorgon (Netflix’s Stranger Things reference) was going to jump out of the pages at me.
Let me be clear on this, whether you or I or anyone believe in the “findings” is irrelevant.
The book makes for a great read, especially for actors.
The conclusion drawn is that plants are a far more complex organism than we realize and they have vast implications for the way our world operates. They are not merely spectators in our game of life. They are active players.
What you need to realize as an actor is that the industry is a living, breathing organism too. It is not a mere spectator, it is shaping your career at every moment.
After reading a few crazy pages, I forced myself to be open minded and ask “what if this were true?”
What if everything I thought I knew was completely wrong?
That kind of mentality is what it takes to build a career in the entertainment industry.
We have always been told that you have to be the best and most talented to be “discovered.”
We were told that you have to pay your dues and that one day your time will come.
Your agents and managers will book you, so you just focus getting better at your craft and become the best actor you can be, so that when opportunity knocks you can kick that door wide open and seize it!
We were told that too.
Forget about the plant book.
In our case, we see evidence to the contrary all around us every day, yet most actors can’t see it or don’t want to see it.
This is the best of times for the industry but it can also be the worst of times.
This is where that open mind comes in. What if everything you thought you knew about the industry was incorrect?
What if the “big 4 networks” were no longer ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox, and instead they were now Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter?
What if studios had to pour hundreds of millions of dollars into a production, and tens of millions more into promoting a film just to sell a few million movie tickets opening weekend, while a 20 something year old guy with a GoPro and a YouTube channel can rack up 20 million views [tickets] on his conspiracy theories documentary in a single day?
What are the implications of that?
I say that it can be the worst of times for the industry because, we are in a time when we are no longer beholden to the networks and studios and that means taking personal responsibility for the outcome of your career.
You don’t need to be “discovered” and given your big break.
To everyone on the outside, the industry is an endless parade of glamorous outings, premieres, and red carpet events.
To those truly trying to make it in the industry, the reality is more like 15 hour days, plus your day job, and going months without knowing if you will ever work again.
At least that was the old model…
But, again, what if this were no longer true and things were different now?
It is possible to make a Quantum Leap from where you are now, and start reaping the rewards of the career you have been aspiring to for so long.
You just have to figure out were you fit into the ecosystem of the industry. For an ecosystem to be in a healthy balance, there has to be a proper amount of input and output.
Most actors are simply looking to extract everything they can from the industry without ever thinking about what they can add to it.
The industry is starving for attention and it thrives on actors who have a genuine personality.
Here’s how I can help with the attention.
When you can build a well of attention and point it at the industry, the law of reciprocity states that it has to give something back to you.
This is why you see so many YouTubers and Instagrammers popping up in mainstream projects. They are feeding the industry’s ecosystem with what it needs.
The secret to becoming an absolute industry powerhouse with more bookings and opportunities than you even know what to do with is to do the same.
What it wants from you is to be an actor that can bring something to the table and the best thing you can bring is your social media platform, because that is the attention the industry so desperately craves.
Along with that, it is more important than ever to have a stellar industry reputation.
Here’s a quick fix for both of those.
Everything in an ecosystem has its purpose and plays a role in keeping it in a healthy balance. If you think of the industry this way, you must consider where you fit into it.
You have to carve out a little corner for yourself and dominate that purpose. You can’t just be another actor, because there is already an abundance of them and the ecosystem that is the industry has a way getting rid of the excess doesn’t serve it.
So, over the next few weeks I’m going to be sharing with you exactly how to carve out your own space in the industry, make a name for yourself, and give you the practical step by step methods to create your own ecosystem within the industry.
Opportunity will then flow to you with endless abundance. However, you have to build your career on a solid foundation. That’s why I created this for you.
People often ask why any of us at Boost My Star are so willing to help actors, given that Hollywood is so competitive. If we top level the industry, everybody wins!
That’s why our goal is to…
See you at the top,
